The Band has developed an Industrial Park with room for a two saw mills, a dry Kiln (under construction), a log sort yard and storage area. The industrial site is adjacent to rail lines and could provide easy access to shipping of products.

The BBB has access to old growth Fir and produces beams of clear, green fir for a client who kiln dries and cuts the wood into flooring.

Wood or Propane fired Dry Kiln with capacity for 14,000 board feet and rying time of approximately 7 days.

The BBB is working with BCIT to build and pilot test a small capacity kiln that will reduce moisture content to between 8 & 12 %. The kiln drying process adds about 50% to the value to the wood product. Cutting the product into 1" x 6" flooring blanks running them through a planer and router to tongue and groove the product would add an additional 50% to the value of the raw product. The kiln, planer and router would double the current selling price of the wood product.
